RELIABLE END-TO-END IMAGING OVER USB 3.0

Point Grey offers a full line of USB 3.0 products designed to address the demand for speed, reliability, and ease-of-use. This includes the entire imaging pipeline from cameras to the cables, host controller cards, drivers, and API’s.

In another innovative breakthrough, Point Grey has developed its own proprietary USB 3.0 link layer IP which is implemented in an FPGA. We do not rely on third-party chip vendors. This means Point Grey has complete control over the camera’s core technology giving us the ability to respond faster to customer feature requests and provide better customer service.

Grasshopper^®3

The high performance Grasshopper3 camera line combines the benefits of CCD with the affordability and data throughput of USB 3.0. Its FPGA and frame buffer-based architecture provides optimal reliability, a rich set of features, and a full image processing pipeline including color interpolation, gamma, and lookup table functionality. The Grasshopper3 offers a powerful, easy-to-use, and cost-effective alternative to Camera Link and dual GigE LAG solutions.

Flea^®3

The Flea3 line of USB 3.0 cameras offers a variety CMOS image sensors in ultra-compact, low-cost packages. To maximize USB 3.0 reliability, the Flea3 provides a unique set of features including a 32 megabyte frame buffer; on-camera power, temperature, and status monitoring; and in-field updatable firmware. The camera also provides on-camera processing including color interpolation, look up table, gamma correction, and pixel binning functionality.
